Britannia - London Road

The fourth example of the mock Tudor pub architecture, this pub is located on the right hand side of the A6 coming from Loughborough, and replaced the original Britannia, which in 1877 was tenanted by John Haywood. Various members of this family ran the pub until at least 1908, when Betsy Haywood, John's daughter, was landlady. She had taken over from her sister Sarah Nix. John Newham was installed by 1912 and stayed for over 30 years.

This pub was owned by Worthington, then Bass, before being sold to the Kimberley Brewery Co in the 1980s.
